Thomas Little Jr. was born August 29, 1959 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Thomas Little Sr. and Barbara Brunson Little. The Little family relocated from North Carolina to Cleveland, Ohio in 1966 in search of better economic opportunities. Shortly after the family planted roots in East Cleveland, Ohio
on Strathmore Ave.
Thomas graduated from Shaw High School in 1977. He became a prospect for the World’s Finest Fighting Force, The United States Marine Corps the same year. He served as a soldier in Platoon #3073 at the Parris Island Marine training station located in South Carolina and he was stationed overseas. He
completed his service in 1979 and returned home to EC where he continued his education. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Tri-C. He also worked a variety of different jobs including a manager position at Lawsons Convenience Store in EC, and as a tax preparer for HR Block. In 1983,
Thomas enlisted again. This time, as a civil servant with the United States Postal Service (USPS). He proudly served his community for 37 years. He is a member of the USPS Million Mile Club, which is an honor bestowed to individuals with 30 years or 1,000,000 miles of safe driving.
During his years attending Shaw High School, Thomas met and fell in love with Diana Marie Williams. From their union two children were born, Thomas Little III and Twan Lanard Little. They were happily married for 26 years and remained the best of friends. Thomas was family-oriented, this he learned
from his mother. There wasn’t one holiday Thomas did not make an appearance. His fun-loving spirit, radiating smile and infectious laughter made him the life of any party and an absolute pleasure to be around. Thomas had a way of showing the ones he loved just how much he loved them. You could count on receiving one of the tightest hugs you could imagine each time he saw you.
Thomas transitioned from this earthly plane on March 8, 2025. He had hopes of retiring soon and looked forward to spending his golden years with family and traveling the world. Thomas loved music, numbers, sports, expensive cars, and being the best-dressed person in the room. He was an intellectual with a wealth of wisdom and a great teacher of life to many.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy. Thomas is survived by his sons, Thomas III and Twan; brothers, Tonnie (Maria) and Terry Sr. (Leeann); sister, Thomasa; nephews, Terry Jr., LaVelle, Will, Justin and Tim; nieces, Tasia, Tiffanie (Jeffrey), Tanisha, Tyra, Terria, Malana and Janeta; 11 great-nephews and nieces; and a host of friends who will carry on his spirit of love and laughter.
