He was born in Cleveland, the son of Laten Caldwell Jr. and Teresa Armstrong and step-son of Charles Davis. Tony is the beloved husband of 18 years to Danielle (nee Edelman), whom he began dating in 2000 and married on September 22, 2007; loving father of Taliana and Tony Caldwell; eldest brother of Christina Armstrong, Mandy (Myron) Jordan, Amber Hodge (deceased), Taz Davis, Jamella Davis, John (Nekiey) Boyd (deceased), Joshua (Kayla) Caldwell, Jesica Caldwell and Laten "Bubby" (Amber) Caldwell III; adored uncle, nephew, cousin and friend of many.
Tony proudly served the community for 17 years as a bus operator with RTA before retiring to follow his passion for entrepreneurship. He went on to establish Caldwell Construction and Design, breathing life back into the homes in the Cleveland area and AKA Chuck D LLC, his transportation business, where he had a fleet of 12 vehicles, always striving to build a legacy and show his children that there are no limits when it comes to following your dreams.
Never one to stop creating, Tony was in the process of developing You Hoop, a basketball-based app designed to revive the excitement of pick-up and street games by connecting players and communities.
Tony will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, his ability to uplift those around him, and his gift for motivating and inspiring others. He was a lifelong learner—always reading, teaching, and sharing his knowledge with authenticity and passion.
Family was at the heart of Tony’s life. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, cherishing every moment with his wife and children. His legacy lives on not only in the businesses he built and the dreams he chased, but in the love and inspiration he gave to all who knew him.
