Arthur C MacLeod

MACLEOD, ARTHUR C. Arthur “Art” C. MacLeod of Westbrook, CT, and Naples, FL, formerly of Ridgefield, CT, passed away June 7, 2015. Art was born February 6, 1927 in Medford, MA to the late Roderick and Violet (McLean) MacLeod. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Laura, of over 61 years and is survived by his children; daughter, Joan Minshall and her husband Werner of Chevy Chase, MD and son, Rod MacLeod and his wife Nancy (Grimm) of Old Saybrook. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Werner Minshall Jr., Thaddeus Minshall and his wife Page, Julia Minshall, Melissa Minshall, Rod MacLeod Jr., and Laura MacLeod and great grandchildren; Thaddeus Jr. and Robert Minshall and brother, Donald MacLeod of Ocampo, CA. After serving in the Army Medical Corps in Europe during WWII, Art attended the University of Detroit, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering. Art worked for Union Carbide Corporation for 33 years where he held various upper managerial positions, retiring in 1985 as Corporate Vice President – Employee Relations. Art and Laura enjoyed living and traveling onboard their boat "Hold Fast" visiting ports from New England to Florida. He was also an avid offshore captain/angler where he enjoyed trolling the northeast canyon waters with his son in search of tuna. In lieu of flowers, Art requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society , Meriden Executive Park, 538 Preston Ave., PO Box 1004, Meriden CT 06450, in honor of his wife, Laura MacLeod.
