Our beloved Bradley J. Daar of Clinton, Connecticut with a zest for life sadly passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2025 in a glider crash in Deep River Connecticut at the tender age of 70. He was born with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold, with a big smile for everyone he met who is remembered as ‘One of the Greatest Humans’. He had an unwavering love and generosity for all those around him. He was a devoted family man and loved by his community. Brad had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them. He was a true adventure seeker and an avid lover of the outdoors who lived life to the fullest. He had a love of riding motorcycles, martial arts, boxing, roller blading, hot air ballooning, playing guitar, cooking, entertaining, music, hiking, and a total gym rat who even worked out on vacation. He was an avid reader who could speed-read oftentimes finishing books in a day. His true passion was flying and was an accomplished pilot. He flew hot air balloons well over 20 years after which he tried flying just about anything that could soar through the sky. He was more than a husband and father but a friend and confidante. He was not only someone you enjoyed spending time with but someone you wanted to model yourself after. Brad was selfless and put others first. He was loved by many.
He grew up in Skokie, Illinois and went to Undergraduate School at Northern Illinois University and then the Masters Program in Biology at Loyola University in Chicago. He completed his Dental Education at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois in 1982. Later he obtained a Master of Nutrition Degree at Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Connecticut. Brad believed in continuing education and completed hundreds of hours of training in Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Dental Implants, Sleep Apnea and more.
He was a successful Dentist for over 40 years who was committed to his practices and loved his patients. He was the owner of Manchester Family Dental in Manchester, Connecticut before later opening Shoreline Modern Dental in Old Saybrook, Connecticut where he spent much of his time with his beloved wife and “step” sons, becoming an integral part of both communities.
Brad was philanthropic and supported many causes. Brad became involved in the FMDSA in 2007, after his wife was diagnosed with Fibromuscular Dysplasia. He was not only a big supporter of the FMDSA, but he was the Board President for the past 15 years. Brad loved helping his local community and anything that helped kids throughout the years including the Manchester Family Dental Scholarship Fund at Manchester Community College. Doing toy drives every year during the holidays to bring smiles to kids’ faces. He was a boxing enthusiast and was an integral part of Manchester ROCS in Manchester, Connecticut, that is a nonprofit organization geared toward giving at risk kids an outlet by participating in their boxing club. He was a huge support system to Mykquan Williams “Team Williams”, and he followed him through his amateur career and then into the pro leagues. Team Williams will forever carry him in their hearts. His generosity extended beyond gifts with his time, attention and emotional support.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Sheila Daar from Skokie, Illinois. He is survived by his loving wife Terasia Provost-Daar from Clinton, Connecticut and two beloved “step” sons to whom he was a genuine father, Cory Provost from Clinton, Connecticut and Kyle Provost and his fiancé Kayla Steinberg from West Hartford, Connecticut. Kyle and Kayla’s wedding will be on May 10, 2025, for which Brad’s presence will be sorely missed. He is also survived by his brother Alan Daar and his wife June Daar from Santa Clarita, California and their two sons David Daar and his wife Courtney Daar with their newest addition Dawson Daar from Los Angeles, California, as well as Alexander Daar and his wife Kimberly Daar from Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by his sister Lori Wylie and brother-in-law Terry Wylie and their two children Jamie Wylie and Brent Wylie from Southern Illinois.
Brad was a devoted husband and father to Kyle and Cory whom he loved with all his heart. He adored his wife Terasia, and they will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. His family was his world. Because Brad celebrated life, no formal funeral service is being planned, instead, he will be honored with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Saybrook Point Resort and Marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Fly high Brad Daar you will forever be in our hearts.
