

Mrs. Kirmss was born on January 16, 1928 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late Edward and Jane (Stannard) Granniss.
She worked for many years as a Librarian at Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton.
She was an avid art collector, book lover and community volunteer. Carolyn adored cats, and volunteered for numerous years at several cat adoption/rescue organizations.
She made her home in many places, including Detroit, Chicago, Larchmont and Floral Park NY, Arlington VA, Glendora CA, Wyomissing PA, and several places in CT before settling in Clinton, her favorite.
Mrs. Kirmss is survived by her daughter Cynthia Kuester (William) of Durham. She is also survived by her sisters Glenna Stewart (the late George), and Mary-Lee Sale (Ross). She is predeceased by her husband Richard E. Kirmss.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5:00pm in the pavilion at the Clinton Town Beach, Waterside Ln. in Clinton. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service from 4:00 until 5:00pm at the Clinton Town Beach. Summer casual attire is welcome. Swan Funeral Home, Clinton is handling the arrangements.
