David Mercure Sr.

David Mercure, age 63 of Killingworth passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday August 4, 2011 at his home after a long illness. Beloved husband of Patricia (McGrath)Mercure. David was born in Canada on May 21, 1948 to the late Alphonse and Lydia (Goulet) Mercure.

David was a tool maker for most of his life, working along the shoreline. He was an avid camper, and loved music, especially when he played the guitar, which he loved. But Dave’s true love was his family, who he cherished. We have lost a good family man, and Killingworth has lost a good friend.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, David Mercure Jr. and April Mercure both of Clinton, Ryan Sprague and his wife Heather and Brandon Sprague both of Killingworth. Justin Sprague of Fla. and Wendell Sprague also of Killingworth. David is also survived by his granddaughter Keira. He is predeceased by two sisters Silvia Wilson and Christine Thomson.

Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80E Main St. Clinton, Monday August 8, from 5 to 7pm with a service at 7. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington D.C. 20077.
