

Deborah Susan Mosey, 65, of Stratford, affectionately known as "Debbie", passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023. Born on January 23, 1958, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Mosey and Barbara Jean (McCandless) Mosey. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1976. She also went on to take classes at Middlesex Community College. Debbie was a passionate member of her community. She worked at UNILEVER in Clinton from 1988 to 2001 and then as a CCR for Tiger Group, Inc-Home and Building Inspections until 2018. She cared deeply for animals, especially Yorkies. She had a Yorkie mix, Roman, a constant companion whom she adored until his passing at age 12.
Debbie was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Rusty Wallace. She was a major fan of UCONN basketball, loved "Hootie and the Blowfish", was a big fan of NFL 49ers football and Joe Montana, loved car racing and got the opportunity to drive one at Waterford Raceway, which she was very proud of! She LOVED pizza, was a wonderful knitter and loved to read and watch her favorite soap operas. Her favorite holidays by far were Thanksgiving and Christmas and she loved spending time at her partner's family lake house. Above all else, Debbie found her joy in spending time with her friends and family, those she held closest to her heart. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone!
Debbie will be greatly missed by her children Katrelle Leigh Mitchell, 43; Vernon Ray Joseph Mitchell, 41; and Kalia Shari Mitchell, 37, along with her grandchildren Trinity Mikaela Leigh Daggs, 21; Faith Rayanna Randall,16; Davonte' Jayden Mitchell,20; Ariana Marie Mitchell, 18; Imani Jean Mitchell, 12; Kenai Jamaal Mitchell, 17 and Mehki Jayden Mitchell, 13. She was cherished and loved by her longtime partner Vinny DiMichele. She was also very close with her siblings, Lisa Mosey of Torrington, CT and Jonathan Mosey of Westbrook, CT.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Swan Funeral Home located at 80 East Main St, Clinton, Connecticut 06413. A service will immediately follow calling hours at 4:00pm at the funeral home.
As a tribute to her love for animals, Debbie's family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Yorkie 911 Rescue Inc. at Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc., PO Box 2627, North Babylon, NY 11703.
