

Dorothy W. Swan, 98, of Killingworth, passed away on March 29, 2013. She was born in Guilford on October 3, 1914 and was the daughter of Gottfried and Louise (Ruff) Wings. She grew up in Madison with her late brother Fred Wings. Dorothy moved to Killingworth with her late husband, Robert E. Swan and was employed at Lomas & Nettleton of New Haven many years before retiring. She was a member of Killingworth Congregational Church for over 50 years. Dorothy enjoyed bird watching and was often found on her screened porch admiring nature, especially the hummingbirds and cardinals. Dorothy was an amazing cook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. Dorothy is survived by her son Robert E. Swan, Jr. of Killingworth and daughter Janice (Swan) Graham and her husband Francis of Westbrook. She had two grandchildren Raymond E. Swan and his wife Amy of Clinton and Lisa (Graham) Carr and her husband Robert of East Hartford. Dorothy also had five great grandchildren Jonathan, Danielle and Tyler Carr, and Olivia and Raymond E Swan. Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery on Green Hill Road in Killingworth at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Killingworth Congregational Church, 273 Rte. 81, Killingworth, CT 06419.
