Elizabeth Rose Vegliante

Elizabeth R. Vegliante, 88, wife of Frederick C. Vegliante married in 1957 of Killingworth, CT died on March 2, 2023 at St. Raphael’s Hospital with family by her side. Elizabeth was born November 22, 1934, in South Meriden, CT to Henry and Margaret Bartholomew. She is predeceased by her sisters Grace (Martin) Heany and Jane (George) Knapp. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Killingworth and was active in church activities and charities.

Elizabeth was born and raised in South Meriden. She and Fred were married for 65 years. Elizabeth had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth will most be remembered for her love of family and devotion to her Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband and her three sons: Christopher and his wife Kimberly of Killingworth, CT, Frederick T. and his wife Karen of Merrimack, NH and Steven and his wife Rosemary of Killingworth, CT.

She will be missed by her 8 grandchildren: Stephanie Witman and her husband Alden and their son Henry (Duke), Julie Vegliante, Matthew Vegliante and his wife Marie, Michelle Fleri and her husband Mitchell, Amy Vegliante, Andrea Vegliante, Scott Vegliante and his wife Katelyn, Allison DeSimone and her husband Victor.

The Vegliante family would like to thank St. Raphael’s Hospital staff for their professional and compassionate care. A special thank you to Fr. Lawrence Okwuosa who administered the Sacrament of the Last Rites.

Funeral services will be held on March 10, 2023, at St. Lawrence church in Killingworth, CT. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by a mass at 11am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, CT.
