Rosa Isabel Escalera, 85, slipped peacefully from this world surrounded by loved ones, in the comfort of her home in Clinton. She owned and operated Isabel's Beauty Salon from the same warm and welcoming home for 35 years, and considered her friends, neighbors and clients to be an extension of her family.
She was the center of an adoring family and her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of her beloved husband of 63 years, Miguel "Mike", and her three devoted sons, Yasha, Miguel Jr. and Raymond, and their wives Linda, Valerie, and Mildre. She was affectionately referred to by her sons as “the glue” whose unconditional love held the family together and gave it strength. Abuela, as she was called by her grandchildren, Liya, Lindsey, Jason, Andrew, Corinne, Ramon, Adam, Briana, Natasha, Millie, Sylvia, and Yamaris, and her great-grandchildren Ezio Raymond, Isabel Marie and Emma Isabel, never tired of discussing their adventures, celebrating their triumphs, and consoling their sorrows. She leaves a legacy of love, compassion and joy that will live on for many generations.
Her family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to Maireny Soto, who lovingly cared for Isabel during her illness, as well as the countless health professionals who contributed to her care, particularly Dr. Murphy and the Masonicare Hospice workers whose efforts allowed her to remain at home.
