Meredith Leigh Hile

Our cherished daughter, Meredith Leigh Hile of Clinton, CT, age 35, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 16, 2026, after a courageous four-year battle with brain cancer. During her short life, she touched so many people with joy, humor, and much happiness with everyone she would meet, whether it be at school, work, or with various activities and travel experiences with her family. She loved to go on cruises and frequently attended musical theater shows throughout Connecticut and NYC.

Meredith was born in New Haven, CT, to Marianne and James Hile on December 5, 1990. She graduated from the Morgan School in 2012. The Sharp Training agency provided Meredith with work opportunities for many years at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and the Mohegan Sun employee food court. Meredith enjoyed participating as an athlete with the Seaside Saybrook Special Olympics Track and Field and Bocce teams for over 20 years, earning many medals. She also participated in numerous activities with IMPACT, Inc. (formerly called MARC, Inc.), recreational programs, and attended the Horizons Summer Camp each year.

Meredith is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Margaret and Walter Rausch, and Madeline and James K. Hile. She is survived by her parents, Marianne and James Hile, as well as her brother, Gregory Hile, of Norwich, CT, and sister, Lauren Hile, of Brooklyn, NY, her aunt, Eileen Rausch, and uncle, Robert Hile (Carey), and numerous cousins. She will be greatly missed and remembered by many co-workers, job and activities coaches, friends, and teachers.

Funeral calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 28, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Swan Funeral Home, Clinton, CT. A Mass of Celebration will be held on Friday, May 29, at 11 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, CT. Private burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach Park Road, in Clinton.
