

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Omar Wallace Francis on March 20, 2025 at the age of 76. A devoted husband/parent/grandparent/friend, a proud veteran, and accomplished professional in the financial world, Omar lived a life of service, integrity, and generosity.
Born on July 11, 1948 in Lewiston, Maine to Halvor Francis and Violet (Tripp) Francis, Omar answered the call to serve, enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving in Vietnam and dedicating many years of service to our country through his time in the Army Reserve where he ultimately earned the rank of Captain.
Following his military service, Omar earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics from Southern Connecticut State University followed by a Master of Art’s degree in the study of Labor Relations from the University of New Haven. He then brought the same discipline and dedication to his work in the financial industry specializing in wealth management and financial planning. As the founder of Shore Financial Group located in Clinton, CT, he built a firm rooted in trust, helping countless individuals and families secure their financial futures. A leader and mentor, Omar was deeply respected for his expertise, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his clients and associates.
Beyond his professional achievements, Omar was a devoted family member and friend. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Berlt) Francis, his daughter, Shari (Francis) Williams and son-in-law, Brian Williams, as well as three grandchildren to whom he adored, Derek Williams, Daniel Williams, and Drew Ann Williams who will forever cherish his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support.
Omar’s legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love they shared. Though we mourn this loss, we take solace in knowing his impact will never fade.
A funeral service with military honors will be held on March 29, 2025 at Swan Funeral Home located at 80 East Main Street, Clinton, CT to celebrate Omar’s extraordinary life. Viewing will occur from 11am to 1pm, with a service held from 1pm to 2pm. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Omar’s dedication to two of his favorite causes by donating to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation www.t2t.org in his memory.
Rest in peace, Captain Omar Francis. Your duty is fulfilled, but your legacy endures. You will be dearly missed and our memories will remain treasured.
