She was born in Hartford on March 9, 1947 and was the daughter of Earl and Barbara Burt Ferris.
Patricia was raised in Wethersfield and was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State College, and then she went on to earn two master's degrees at Southern Connecticut State University specializing in early childhood and special education. She taught for North Branford school systems and then taught for many years at ACES where she then retired after teaching for over 40 years.
Patricia had many interests other than teaching. She was both artistic and adventurous. She enjoyed making jewelry and sewing. She made many dance costumes for her daughters through the years. In her earlier years, she rode motorcycles, water-skied, fished and loved riding horses. Patricia was a lover of books and was always reading or playing Words with Friends. You could always catch her sitting in her chair with a good book and her Newfoundland dogs and Maine coon cats, relaxing beside her.
Patricia will be greatly missed by her husband, Michael of 39 years. Besides her husband Michael she is survived by her two daughters, Stacey Lankarge and her husband Robert (Moodus CT) and Melanie Malley and her husband, Sean (Clinton CT). She also is survived by three grandchildren. Merrick and Braden Lankarge and Christopher Malley who will all miss their Meema very much.
There will be a celebration of life in Patricia’s honor. Please contact Stacey or Michael for information.
