William G. Murphy

William G. Murphy Sr, 88, formerly of Clinton, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Water's Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Middletown. Beloved husband of the late Helen Leontina (Grisolia) Murphy, he was born in New York City on January 9, 1925 to the late William J. And Mary (Dolan) Murphy.

William was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII. After the war he was employed by A & P Supermarket as a meat cutter. He is survived by two sons, William G. Murphy Jr and his wife Nicole of Wilmington, NC, and Gerard J. Murphy and his wife Dawn of Avon, and one daughter Maura Herlihy and her husband Steven of Madison.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha and Brian Herlihy, Madeleine, Matthew Lucas and Gavin Murphy and Tanner and Peyton Mayzel. He was predeceased by his sister Agnes.

Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton, Friday, November 22, 2013 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 23, at 9 am at St Mary's Church of the Visitation, Grove Street, Clinton.
