William W. Webster, 83, passed away on June 30th peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife, Nancy, at his side. Bill was born on the 4th of July in New Haven to the late George and Mildred (Woodstock) Webster in 1931. He graduated from Hamden High School and earned his degree from Princeton University in 1953. Once he fulfilled his military obligation in the US Army, he then went onto attend Stamford University. He retired from IBM where he was a senior systems engineer.
As a boy he spent his summers at this grandmother’s summer cottage on Blaisdell Point in Clinton. His passions were boating, his family, friends, and fixing things.
A gathering to remember Bill will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St. Clinton, on Saturday July 11th from 1230-230pm. A service will be held at the funeral home at 2:30pm. People are encouraged to share their remembrance of Bill at this time. We will then join together for an ice cream social at his house on Blaisdell Point. At a later date his and Nancy’s ashes will be scattered over their salt meadow and off the coast of New England.
