My condolences to the family,I had the honor and privilege for this man to be my senior drill sergeant when I attended basic training in 2016 with Charlie 2/47.A great man and an awesome leader and his words still carry with me to this day. 

1SG Luna always put everyone before himself, was a consummate professional, and lived the Army’s ethos.  He was a great man and leader.  I am a better person for having served with him. 

I feel deep sympathy for his family and close friends. 

I served with Angel here at America's First Corps.  He was an extremely caring and committed leader, humble and proud of his Soldiers.  I was privileged to serve with him, and I pray for peace of mind and healing for those that loved him.



My dear nephew , your sudden lost has leave all our Family with a hole in our hearts. You will be loved forever and we always will be proud of you. Is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but when that happens so sudden is even more painful. We will keep the good memories and all the love we shared with you, those feelings are eternal .  Love you forever.

Brother Luna, words cannot express the sadness I feel that you are gone. I'm so very thankful for having you as a friend and confidant while we served together as First Sergeants. You were there for me and I appreciated that. Thank you for being a friend and I will miss you. To your family I send my deepest condolences. I know tomorrow will be tough, but hopefully they all can take some comfort in knowing that you will live on forever in their hearts and memories. Rest easy brother. You will be missed.

Wow! It's me, Bullock. Sorry, it took me so long to make it here. I’m still mourning the news, and I wanted to ensure that I honored you the best way I knew how. So here I go. 

We are grateful for the many years of faithful and honorable service that you have given to our nation, sharing in our collective passion for freedom and peace not only for our families and citizens but for the people around the world.  Thank you for the impact that you have had on me as well as the many men and women that you have come in contact with throughout your lifetime. You modeled, mentored, and trained character, competence, and commitment in and out of the uniform. You have inspired us by living the standard throughout your military career and choosing to excel. I will miss you, and I know that you will forever have my back!! Rest easy, 1SG.

You have my deepest condolences! He was a man with a good heart and even better leadership. I'm proud to have been one of his NCOs and learned many lessons that I will carry out through my career. I'm thankful for the laughs and wisdom he shared with me and I will forever be grateful!

Angel was one of the first people I got close too following my deployment. He was excitable, passionate, and full of life. His love of Soldiers and passion for others was contagious and made me a better man. And his unwavering friendship helped me transition back to home.

Angel was one of the happiest people I’ve ever met. It’s seems like it’s just yesterday we were young kids trying to change the world. Angel definitely touched a lot of people with easy demeanor and infectious smile. He was a great leader, mentor, and above all, he was a great friend. Angel will be missed dearly. Elisabeth, be certain that your husband will never be forgotten. Cris and Ian, know that you have hundreds of aunts and uncles around the world that loved and admired your dad, do not hesitate to reach out to hear some good stories about your dad.

Loss leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. May the road rise up to meet you and may the wind be always at your back. Heart broken. Lost my mentor and one of my hero’s. Greatest 1sg and leader I’ve ever had. And a father figure to me. Wouldn’t have made it as far in the Army if it wasn’t for this man. I inspire to be half the man and father he was. You will never truly be gone with the memories an impact you have left on so many lives. RIP top.

Top, I still remember our last conversation, you sounded so excited, energetic and full of life.  I have so many fond memories, just thinking about the many interactions we had I just laugh.  But I must say the best one was running the airfield, that one always got a smile/ laugh from you.  I am glad I got to meet you, work with you and be a close friend. Brother, I am going to miss you, Rest In Peace.

Manuel, may God receive you in heaven, now that you cannot be with us here on earth. You will be missed by all  members of your extensive family, because you cared for all of us with a love that was sincere.

Angel Luna was the first real NCO that truly cared for his Soldiers, which lucky for me, I got to experience a caring leader early on in my career.  I truly knew that if I ever needed anything, he would be there for me. No matter if I was in the wrong. All these years later, I can truly say, that through FB, he had so many moments checking up on me, someone who was no longer his Soldier. He ensured he sent a message saying great job, and that he was proud to any accomplishments I had posted. That unit was the unit that showed me so many phenomenal leaders, which was exactly what Angel Luna was! My condolences goes out to Elizabeth and the boys! Wishing the Luna family all the comfort and peace this world holds, as well as healing prayers during this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. 

You made such a difference in so many lives.  There are no words for the legacy you have left for our family.  Our family will not be the same without you.  


Rest easy, Top. You were always the most stand up guy in the room and every one of your Soldiers and Officers respected you 100%. You leave us knowing you made an incredible impression upon us all. Till Valhalla!

From one Soldier to another, I could not thank you enough for your service. The tremendous sacrifice that you and your family did for this great nation.  Your career help shape so many lives and set the example for so many others.  Your legacy will live on as you “Soldier hard, Soldier!” during your time. Your dedication and willingness to defend freedom will always be a source of admiration. 

It will be hard for me to hear the bugler plays the notes as a musical recognition of a life ended a goodbye that hangs in the air accompanied by the 21-gun salute for someone that we love.   I lean on God for all understanding for such a moment like this.
As your brother, I cannot express how sad I am to see you leave us so soon.  My heart aches for your family and all of ours.  Cris and Ivan will always be love by us and they will remember a great dad. When you are just a toddler, I remember how our mom’s smile used to light up a room as she looked upon you.  You were a joy for her and she love you beyond words. We loved you too.  

I salute your legacy. Carry on and may God bless us all.
