Annette was born in Detroit, Michigan to Nick and Marie Battista, the oldest of their 4 children. She was united in marriage to Carl V. Ludwiczak on October 19, 1957. Together they shared 68 years of marriage and raised three children, building a life centered on family, hard work, and generosity.
During her years in Harper Woods and Las Vegas, Annette lived a full and active life. She took pride in serving her community, first as a crossing guard, and later as a bank teller. She also worked in retail at Macy’s and Toys R Us, always enjoying being around people. In her free time, she liked playing bingo and slot machines, and she enjoyed watching sports.
Annette was a wonderful cook who found great joy in preparing meals for others. Family gatherings were made special by her care and hospitality, and no one ever left her table hungry.
She and her husband Carl loved to travel, enjoying many cruises and road trips together over the years. As Annette raised her children, she enjoyed participating in their activities as well. She generously volunteered wherever she was needed—serving as a Girl Scout Cookie Mom for her daughter’s troop and helping provide snacks for Little League games—always happy to support her children and their activities.
Annette is survived by her devoted husband Carl V. Ludwiczak; her children David Ludwiczak (Brigitte), Gary Ludwiczak (Joanna), and Karen Knapp (John); her grandchildren Kristen Ludwiczak, Hayley Ludwiczak, Kelsey Knapp, Grace Ludwiczak, Evan Knapp, Olivia Ludwiczak, Michael Ludwiczak, Jayce Rebar (Nicole), Ryan Rebar, and Jordan Rebar; and her great-grandchild Everly. She is also survived by her siblings Linda Campbell and Dennis Battista, and her sister-in-law Christina Bolis. She was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Sanderson.
