I will always remember Our Cousin, Arlene. Our Family would visit at Christmas & Easter dinners. We always loved to get together. Arlene was the perfect hostess with Floyd, her sweet & full of humor husband. Both were full of fun, patient & endearing. My Father was very close to Arlene while growing up. He has always said that She was his "Favorite Cousin". They had tons of fun experiences together. There were many years we went on vacations together. We have lots of" old" movies to prove it. One of my favorite times with the Biggs Family was when we went on a trip in a jeep down the Sand dunes off Lake Michigan. We had a " ball"! We would watch that film over & over & laugh about the fun times we spent together. We will always remember Arlene & Floyd & their wonderful Family. We love them All. Thanks, Arlene for being a part of our lives. You made us all feel " special" & loved. Look forward to seeing You once again. ❤ 💘 Cousins Forever, Rose, Anita, Jerry & Betty.

Sending condolences and love to the Biggs family. I have fond memories of Mrs. Biggs when I would hang out with Marcia at their house. She always let me and my mom pick grape leaves along her backyard! So sorry for your loss.

ArleneCudnau was born to Gertrude Bishop and Nobert Cudnau in December of 1925 in Detroit. Although she lost her mother at the age of 5, she was loved and cared for by her Aunt Annie Vollmer and was raised with cousins in a happy family.
Arlene loved music and dancing her entire life. She met Floyd Biggs, the love of her life, at a dance hall and they danced together for the next 60 years – everything from swing and ballroom to square dancing, she always wanted to dance. Music was always in her head as she was well known as a “hummer” … one always knew where she was by just listening for the humming. She claimed she did not know she was doing it, but there was always a tune in her head.
Arlene said Floyd was handsome, funny, kind and a great dancer and they were immediately drawn to each other. They married shortly after meeting in 1948.
Arlene was loved by all who met her. Her kindness, unselfishness and happy-go-lucky attitude drew friends easily. She always had a smile on her face and was a natural mother to her five children. Her house and yard were always filled with neighborhood kids. Arlene was an impeccable dresser who loved to coordinate her outfits to the smallest detail. From her nose to her toes she matched perfectly – including earrings, lipstick, socks and shoes.
Arlene and Floyd traveled extensively across the country and around the world. They were avid campers spending countless weekends with their many camping friends. Arlene was happiest in those days sitting by the campfire with her girlfriends sharing laughs over a bottle of Ripple.
She instilled in her children a sense of responsibility, working for many years as a legal secretary. She was creative too, always trying out hobbies from painting and ceramics to sewing and macramé. Her beautiful macramé lawn chairs survive to this day and bring many compliments.
She and Floyd celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2008.

To the entire Biggsy Bunch plus, Our sympathies for the loss of your Mom, and Grandma Arlene [Arkey]. We remember her fondly when she was living in Florida, or was present at your gatherings and in your family Caribbean cruise together that she arranged a few years ago. We enjoyed our conversations with her. She was a classy lady and we are sure she will be missed. May all your good memories sustain you and comfort you now and in the years ahead. May God bless you and comfort you. Love, Barry & Deanna.
