Armand Gino Lombardi was called home to be with God on Holy Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the age of 94 years old, surrounded by his loving family. Armand will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, who will be greatly missed.
He was born on February 27th, 1927 in Detroit to Eleuterio and Elizabeth Lombardi, who had recently immigrated to the United States from Ceprano, Italy. He married his wife, Ursula, on January 10, 1948. They had five children and were married for 73 years.
Armand had a successful career at Ford Motor Company, where he worked for more than 40 years. He was also passionate about wine and sold California wine grapes for many years. After retiring from Ford, he opened the fruit market Lombardi’s Fruit and Deli in Warren, Michigan.
He loved to make homemade wine, sausage, pasta and other Italian delicacies with his family. Armand was also a lifelong member of the Cepranese Club of Detroit and an avid hunter.
Armand was the loving husband to Ursula Lombardi and father to Elizabeth (Steven) Williams, Alex Lombardi, Matthew (the late Cindy) Lombardi, Grace (Sam) Zerilli and Linda (Bill) Currie. He is adored by his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Armand’s life will be held in summer 2021.
