Bernard "Bernie" W. Gajewski

Bernard “Bernie” W. Gajewski age 84 of Clinton Township passed away December 5, 2012, he was born July 22, 1928. Beloved husband of Betty Louise for over 62 years. Loving father of Michael (Marianne), William (Karen), Laura (James) Skipinski, Susan (Mark) Stepien. He was grandfather to eight wonderful grandchildren; Genevieve (Ted) McDonald and Peter Gajewski, Joseph, Steven and Rebecca Skipinski, and Krystina, Angelika and Sylvia Stepien. He was brother to Thomas (Helen). He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Veronica and siblings Casmere, Cecelia, Wallace, Rose, Agnes, Eleanore and Leonard. Survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Bernard served with the US Army during the Korean War for two years. He retired from the city of Detroit Building Maintenance Department as a finish carpenter. He served many years as Scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 101 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles parish. His passion was helping others. His many hobbies included reading, gardening, fishing, hunting and pinochle. He was an avid golfer, woodworker and model airplane enthusiast. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Saturday 4-8pm and Sunday 1-8pm at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, 48038.
