William “Bill” DenDooven, age 83, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away on June 27, 2022. Bill was the devoted husband of Darline; Dear father of Janine Holcomb, Susie O’Rourke and the late Denise DenDooven and Step-father of Michael Davis (Guilene), James Davis (Lora) and Jacqueline White (the late Larry); Treasured grandfather of Samantha Shaw, Mitchell Davis (Athra), Joshua Davis (Marizza), Sara Davis, Emily White, Sean Davis, and Elijah White; Loving great-grandfather of Mina Davis and Aaron Davis; Dearest brother of Barbara Yelich (the late Louis), the late Thomas DenDooven, Thaddeus DenDooven (Joan), Mary Kelleher (Robert), James DenDooven (Carole), Katherine Lewis (the late Sandy), Margaret Laporte (Gerald), and Constance Lewis (Robert); also survived by a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
Bill was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 40 years working as a die maker. In his personal time Bill enjoyed hunting when he was able, and spending time hanging out with his family, especially his grandkids. In particular, he cherished the memories made on his fishing trips to the Florida Keys with his sons and grandsons, and his involvement with the local Macomb chapter of Special Olympics Michigan, which held a special place in his heart. Bill will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 3-7 PM, with a funeral service at 7 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Area 14 – Macomb Southeast Region of Special Olympics Michigan (link below).
