Carl was the best friend we ever had. Ever since 1973 at Herman Gardens he has always been a humble giant to me. I am sure he is already preparing the campsite (and getting the ice) for us.

What I remember about Carl Bayer was his love for his Wife Denise and his boys Carl and Timmy.  This man was a man of integrity, honor and selflessness.  He was so kind and so much fun with a good sense of humor.  It has been a while since I have seen him and Denise but he was a special man and I loved his families friendship.  So sorry for your lost and I pray for comfort and peace for ya'll.

My heart is broken that you have left us so early...You have been in my life since I was the age of five and have been more of a Big Brother to me then a Brother in law all these years... I love you Carl and couldn't Thank You more then being my family and friend and always being there for me...You have made our family complete and made my sister so happy for 43  years and blessed me with two nephews and four great nephews...You will be missed and never forgotten...Fly the skies and give Mom a big hug and kiss for me until I see you both again... From pretending to be a mummy to scare me in the night to sharing comic books and Edgar Rice Burroughs' novels to our daily phone conversations during his illness, Carl and I were blessed in our life-long relationship.  Having been raised by loving parents, leaving us too soon, Carl's life reflected that love, raising his beautiful family, capably providing for them, proudly doting upon his four grandsons, and his loyalty to countless friends.        On the last day before entrance into the hospice, before tubes and oxygen obstructed his speech, Carl called to tell me he would miss me and always love me, both of us acknowledging the hospice outcome.  I reassured him of my love and my understanding of his need to slip away.  I told him I will always miss him.  Little Brother, I am relieved that you were surrounded by loved ones as you "...crost the bar."  (from "Crossing the Bar" by Alfred Lord Tennyson)

I cannot thank this man enough for the love, kindness, generosity, humor, and selflessness he has shown me and the boys these years I have known him. I cannot believe he is gone. Alex and Sam had such a special relationship with Papa. From their weekly trips to the mall as babies, to the boys saying, "papa root beer" which instantly gave away that papa was sneaking them the forbidden treat, to the impromptu slurpy runs to teaching the boys to kiss without drooling... The countless ways he has shaped them. We will forever love this wonderful man. I will forever be thankful that he was such a big part of my life. May he rest in peace.
