

Charmin "Char" Renee Fleming (nee LeFevre) passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, after a courageous 2 1/2-year battle against lung cancer. Char faced eight rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and brain surgery with remarkable strength and determination before entering hospice care. A beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Char grew up in Plymouth, Michigan, and later moved to Washington, Michigan. She graduated from Romeo High School in 1974 and embarked on a career as a bookkeeper/controller. Her expertise and experience led her to work for various companies over the years, showcasing her dedication and skill in her profession. She retired in 2021 following her cancer diagnosis.
Char was an unstoppable giver, known for lavishing love on her many friends and family. An avid birder, she found immense joy in photographing birds beneath the dozens of feeders she supported daily. She managed and advised an online birding group and served as the administrator for the "I Grew Up in Plymouth" Facebook group for years, fostering connections and sharing her passion for birdwatching.
A tireless worker and tenacious planner, Char organized countless family visits and pilgrimages, ensuring that loved ones stayed connected. She was also a passionate Michigan football fan and built a team of cancer-fighting supporters through Facebook, inspiring many with her resilience and positivity.
Char is survived by her husband, Christopher Fleming, and her son, Eric Fleming, both of Macomb, Michigan. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Anita LeFevre of Atlanta, Georgia, and her niece, Danielle LeFevre of San Francisco, California. She leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish her memory. Char was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Joann LeFevre. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, and she will be placed to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Char's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
