David "Dave" Michael Coatney, age 66, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Dave was born September 25,1958 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Russell and Elsie (Brunet) Coatney.
Dave wanted to work at a place where he liked what he did, was proud of what he did, and wanted to retire from one place. He was able to proudly fulfill those goals working with Dave B for 40 years, having 35 of them be with the company they started, TPI. Dave was a loyal, giving, funny and kind friend. He was an avid softball player in his younger years, playing at Liberty Park, Total Sports, and the softball championship at Fraser Park. Dave liked to keep up with what was going on in the world by reading the daily paper and watching the news. He liked to watch Seinfeld, 60 Minutes, Hell's Kitchen, Survivor, Cheers and especially anything Marvel. Dave enjoyed woodworking, golfing - specifically in Myrtle Beach, and watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and U of M football. He loved traveling and seeing the world with Lisa, they went to Australia, Japan, Italy to name a few, but his all-time favorite was a solo trip to Egypt. Dave had a passion for living his life with laughter and to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, of 23 years, Lisa Coatney; his siblings, Renee (Bryan) Blue, Wayne (Tina) Coatney, Andrea (John) Parrisse, Sue (Warren Cole) Coatney; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
