Known to all her loved ones as Dorrie, she was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 21, 1938 to William and Agnes (Buckley) McMurray. Dorrie graduated from Annunciation in 1955 where she met her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 63 years, James Mulrenin. Jim and Dorrie had a love story for the ages that blessed them with 4 children and 8 grandchildren. They raised their family in St. Clair Shores before moving to Clinton Township where they spent the last 25 years enjoying life to the fullest. Dorrie had a passion for gardening. She was so proud of her beautiful yard filled with her favorite flowers which she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends at the many pool parties she hosted.
Along with raising her beautiful family, Dorrie had many hobbies throughout her life that she excelled at. Her skills in the kitchen were unmatched! She was very talented at a multitude of crafts, including ceramics, flower arranging, fruit basket design, and many Halloween costumes that her kids or grandkids waited until the last minute to ask for. She always came through for her family!
Dorrie was predeceased by her husband James and son Jimmie. She is survived by her children Maureen (John) Smoke, Kathleen Duchnicki, and Christine Mulrenin. Adoring nana of Jack and Emily Smoke, Patrick, Brian and Kevin Duchnicki, Chelsea Mulrenin, Riley and Kara Wolfbauer. Devoted sister to William (Mary) McMurray, sister-in-law to Richard (Susan) Mulrenin, Bob (Carolyn) Mulrenin, and her many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home of Clinton Township, on Friday, February 3rd from 1:00 pm-9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm scripture reading, followed by a sharing of memories. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, February 4th, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores at 10:30 am, instate at 10:00 am until the time of Mass.
