Doris Eloise Brooks, wife of the late Walter Daniel Brooks, was united with her Savior on October 1, 2020. As a devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy was found in serving her family. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Judy Brooks and is survived by children Rick and Vi Brooks, Dan and Amy Brooks, Bobbie and Lynn Jones and Jody Brooks. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Linda Kay Bartley.
Doris’s servant heart was always on display. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her servant heart reached beyond home to her church family as well. For many years she was involved in missionary activities.
Reading was also one of her delights. In her later years, she was able to relax and catch up on her voracious appetite for good books. She will be fondly remembered by her children and grands alike for satisfying the sweet tooth. Candies of all varieties were always available for her beloved young ones. Perhaps she will be best remembered for her love for her Savior and for her devotion to prayer. For those she loved, there was always a comforting assurance to know that they were on her prayer list. What a blessing to know that she now rests in the arms of the Savior she loved and served!
