Your family is in our prayers.  I met Mr. Edward Riopelle a few times, he was always very kind.  May he rest in peace. 

We Remember Him

When we have a joy we crave to share
When we have decisions that are difficult to make
When we have achievements that are based on his
We remember him.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
We remember him.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
We remember him.
At the rising of the sun and at its setting,
We remember him.
As long as we live, he too will live
For he is now a part of us,
As we remember him.

I'm so glad I was able to get to know my father in law over the last years when he and my mother in law moved to Texas.
We spent many memorable times together in Houston, as well as our place in Utopia, Texas.
My father in law was a soft spoken, kind man with good advice.  He loved spending time with our puppies as well.
He spent his last few years fighting Alzheimer' Disease, and it was heart breaking to witness.
Special thoughts for my mother in law and Tim, who saw him through a lot of this difficult time.  
I know he is in a much better place now and all of the problems he had have disappeared.

One thing I can remember about Uncle Eddie is; my dad and he were 2 peas in a pot, Uncle Eddie was more of a brother than a brother-in-law, they will go fishing together, and when they came home from their fishing trip my aunt and my mom would have to clean the fish. My aunt and mom would have to fry the fish and make French Fries that goes along with the fish.
I also remember never talk about politics or Religion with my Uncle. My dad would argue with him about JFK you see my dad love JFK and my dad was a Democrat and Uncle Eddie was a Republican OMG let the disagreement begin LOL.
Speaking about politics I made a terrible mistake about who I voted for in 1976 presidential election, I told my Uncle I voted for Jimmy Carter, I thought he was going to have a massive heart attack  Lol. I told him Uncle Eddie Ford pardon Nixon that's why I voted for Jimmy Carter, well... that was a mistake, I got a 3-hour lecture from my Uncle why I shouldn't vote for peanut man, by the way when my Uncle start his lecture you better go to the bathroom because you are not leaving your chair LOL.
Well, Uncle Eddie, I did listen to you on voting for Reagan and I still continue to vote Republican you created a monster LOL.

When my dad passes away back in 1976 my dad asks him to watch over us, and my Uncle promises my dad he would watch over us.  Uncle Eddie and my aunt kept their promise they made to my dad. 

Thank you, Uncle Eddie, for always being there for us, and my mom. I thought of you as my second dad, you gave me great advice and sometimes well... most of the time I did not take your advice, I wish I did at the time took your advice maybe I might have a better money manager, well I may not have taken your advice yesterday, but I can still hear you say to me..., Micki a  car gets you to point A - to point B a home goes up in value than a car.  I wish that I listen to you back then. You did tell me Micki once you spill the milk you can't put the milk into your glass.
