

He was the loving father of Danielle (Philip) Deneau, Renee (John) Martin, Dawn (Paul) Libby, and Frederick A. (Michelle) DeNault, IV; devoted grandfather of Austin, Alexander, Lindsey, Isabelle, Lila, and Hannah; and dear brother of Donald (Karen) Denault.
In Fred's early years, he attended Angell Elementary in Detroit, then Lincoln Elementary, Sacred Heart School, and Roseville High School in Roseville. After high school graduation, Fred attended Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University to become a Teacher at L'Anse High School North. During his teaching years, he was the Foreign Language Department Head, from 1976-1996, and Treasurer MEA-NEA at L'Anse Cruise from 1968-1997.
He was very active in the community he was Block Captain for the Homeowners Association starting in 1980, Team Chief of uniforms at Selfridge Military Air Museum starting in 1999, and Crew Chief with Lake Ste. Clair Metroparks starting in 1969.
Fred has also received many awards during his life, the Service Awards MEA-NEA Local- L'Anse Cruise, Longevity Service Awards - Huron-Clinton Metroparks , Volunteer of the Quarter and Volunteer of the Year - Selfridge Military Air Museum.
A few of Fred's favorite songs are the National Anthem, Theme from "Exodus", Along Comes Mary, Honey, and Treasure of your Love, and his favorite color is blue.
All through his adult life, Fred has been a collector of U.S. Military Insignia, Weapons, Books and related Militaria.
He is proud to be a member of St. Michael Catholic Community, 21st Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment Re-Enactors, and the Selfridge Military Air Museum.
Visitation Tuesday, November 15, 3 - 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Scripture Service at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield, Clinton Twp. In-State Wednesday, November 16, from 9 a.m. until the 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church, Sterling Hts.
