Gordon "Jerry" Briggs

Gordon “Jerry” Briggs passed away on March 13, 2020 at the age of 89. He was the beloved husband of the late JoVae for over 68 years. He was born in Flint, MI in 1930 and after High School graduated from GMI - General Motors Institute in 1954. He worked for GM for 37 years. After retirement they purchased a motor home so they could travel the U.S. extensively. Eventually they moved to Bradenton, FL where Jerry became a Shriner in Sarasota, FL in their Hospital transportation group. In 2012 they moved back to Michigan to be closer to family.

Gordon was the loving father of Debra (Thomas) King, the late Laurie Carter, and JoVae Meier; Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Eric) Flemington, Gregory (Cassy) Hohl, Stephan (Gina) Hohl, Jaime (Leslie) King, and Shannon King; Adored great-grandfather of Mariah (Joe) Rivet, Jacob (Rebeca) Wood, Amber (Damon) Shepard, Katie Flemington, Jonathon Flemington, Dillon Hohl, Devon Hohl, James Hohl, Stephan Hohl, Cameron Hohl, and Morgan King; Dear great-great-grandfather of Colton Rivet, Charlotte Wood, Ezekiel Rivet and Jaxxon Shepard; Dearest brother of Ronald Briggs and Carol Eberhardt.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 12 PM until time of service at 4 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township. In memory of Jerry, memorial donations are appreciated to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
