Gregory Dale Lynn, age 67, a long-time resident of Sterling Heights, MI for 40 years, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Clinton Township, Michigan. His death was ultimately the result of an auto accident on December 25, 2017. Greg was born in Illinois, but grew up in Warren, Michigan.
Greg graduated from Warren High School and graduated from Oakland University and earned multiple leadership certifications. He started out as a computer programmer and progressed to an assistant vice president at Standard Federal Bank where he worked for 26 years. He spent the last years of his working life as a senior IT project manager for Henry Ford Health Systems. He kept in touch with many of his coworkers and was involved in Bible studies in most of the places where he worked.
Greg loved God, his family, his church, and his many friends. He was very involved in Lakeside Bible Chapel where he served as youth group leader, AWANA leader and commander, choir director, teacher, and also as a pastor/elder for 30 years. He most valued being used by God to lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus.
Greg enjoyed doing a wide variety of things like playing cards and games, traveling, reading, puzzles, rollercoasters, watching tv and movies, and many vacations at Gull Lake Bible Conference and to Florida with family and friends. He was a talented musician and sang in several quartets and groups throughout the years. Although born with a partial leg, it didn’t keep him from being active; he enjoyed most sports, including water and snow skiing, and especially volleyball and tennis. He also coached some of his kids’ sports teams.
Greg was quick to smile and was fun-loving and known for his puns. He was also known for his dedication to his commitments and for his integrity. He will be remembered for often reminding his kids to “make good choices”.
He was a wonderful husband to Becki for 40 years and the loving father of Michael (Noelle) Lynn, Heather (Jason) Ziolkowski, and Matthew Lynn. He was the much loved brother of Laurie (Bob) Wilson, as well as a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Dorothy Lynn.

*We are asking that everyone wear masks at the visitation, funeral, and luncheon (as much as possible) even if you have been vaccinated, in light of the Delta variant. We understand that this is not a state requirement, and a real sacrifice for some of you, but we would consider this to be a real gift to us as it would make us feel more comfortable. There will also be an area outside at the visitation where mask use will be optional.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakeside Bible Chapel, CaringBridge.org, or Upper Peninsula Bible Camp.
