James “Jim” Karal, age 76, passed away April 22, 2024. Jim was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Oklahoma City, and later was involved with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jim was deeply committed to his family, his faith, and the great outdoors. Over his life he served in churches working with adult religious education, youth groups, and liturgical and outreach committees. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and walking in the woods or near the Great Lakes. Beloved husband of Carolyn Karal (51 years). Loving father of Heather (Joshua) Cochran, Linda Karal, and Jennifer (Matt) Gurka. Devoted grandfather (Michelle, Margaret). Dearest brother of Nancy, Lynn, and Rick (Lauren). Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marjorie, and his nephew and niece (Matthew, Fawn).
