Jayme Anne Manzo, age 76 of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away on April 4, 2024 at home with her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jim Manzo, who preceded her in death in 2022; loving mother of Jayme Manzo Northrup (John) and Melanie Sharpe (Brian); Cherished grandmother of Emily Frances Sharpe, Daniel Patrick Sharpe, and RJ Northrup; Dear sister of Geraldine Ratliff (Edward) and Barbara Efre (Juan).
Jayme was a woman of remarkable strength, perseverance and kindness. As a mother, she was unparalleled, showering her children with love, attention, and encouragement. Each morning, she greeted them with a hot breakfast and nurtured their minds with a love for reading. Her infectious laughter filled their home with joy, and her culinary skills delighted all who had the privilege of tasting her creations. Known for her boundless generosity, she possessed a heart that would give the shirt off her back and a spirit that radiated kindness towards all.
Jayme had a special gift for working with children, particularly those facing challenges. Her patience and empathy for their needs made her a guiding light for many. Through her compassion and dedication, she touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on those she encountered.
Despite living and enduring medical challenges that started in her 30s, she defied the odds and emerged with unwavering perseverance, learning and retraining her body to function once more, such as learning to speak and walk again. Jayme maintained her independence as much as she could. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for the extraordinary woman she was.
An instate will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:30 AM, until time of funeral mass at 12 PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, Utica, MI 48317. Final resting place, Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
