Joan S. Allen of Clinton Township, MI passed away April 27, 2015. She was born July 30, 1927 in Detroit, MI. She worked for many years as a cashier at the Chatham Food Stores. Family members said she enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, and visiting casinos. She was the wife of the late James. She was the mother of Kathleen Mertz, Sandy (Jerry) Kelly, and Donna Antonelli. She is survived by her 9 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Alberta Hurford and Frances Mahn. She will be missed by many. Visitation will be Friday from 1-9:00 pm, with a rosary at 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Rd., Clinton Township, MI 48038. A funeral mass will be celbrated Saturday at 10:00 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Grotto), 13770 Gratiot, Detroit, MI 48205. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
