Hard to believe that it has been a year since the Belmar class of 1955 lost our classmate. Again I remember the good times I spent with joe swimming in the Mon. Flying kites and BB gin battles on the hill behind the old stadium… good guy gone to soon. My best to the family during this time…Nadia, hope your well…John and Charlotte…🙏

RIP my friend Joe. Still think about all the good times when we were kids in BV.. swimming in the river and BB gun battles..flying kites on speers hill..so many good times. Wish our grand children had that experience…

My deepest sympathy Nadia and to your family.  Marie shared with me Joe’s passing while visiting me  in  Belle Vernon.  My family share many great memories with your family when you were living in Pa.   We viewed your memorial video, what a great family you have and it shows the happiest you have shared.  I know you will in time feel the sorrow ease just know that family and friends are here to give you strength. 

Joe, our friend, our Engineer and our Flagman at the Gate.  Every time  on the Steam Engine as I passed by the Gate, Joe would smile as wide as the Gulf.  He would wave at the Children and make them smile.  One day as he was the Engineer on our oldest locomotive, he told me something was wrong.....  and asked me to take her out. Well, something was very wrong - the locomotive jumped the track and fractured the wheels.  Joe just sighed a big relief and said: "I'm glad that happened to you instead of me".  We'll miss him, his smile, and his lunch time stories about the Steel Mill and Chrysler.  Your Naples Depot Friends,

Condolences to all of the family.  Joe will be missed by his fellow volunteers at the Naples Train Museum as he added much to the enjoyment of the train riders experience.

I have only known Joe for 3 years since I started to work at the Depot  in Naples Florida  as a volunteer .
I am an engineer on the train and Joe was our groups Flagman at the gate. He always smiled and waived to the all of us who were on the train.  .He will be missed by our Friday group.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Joe.   Our friendship goes back many years ago to Belle Vernon, where we raised our families.   So many fond memories, over the years, renewing our friendship in Pittsburgh & Naples, FL.
May God be close to all of you during this difficult time, and may Joe rest in peace in God's loving hands.

Our condolences to hear about your loss of Joe. So glad we were able to spend some good times in Florida. I will remember the good times when were kids growing up in BelleVernon and seldom seen.,when we see you again, tell the boys I’ll tell some stories about their dad he might not of told. All good and funny..

I am so saddened by the loss of Joe. He and Nadia were terrific neighbors for 20 years, next door AND down the street! Joe always maintained a beautiful yard with Nadia. We always enjoyed our "dinner club" events with the Filars, where we would alternate homes for a fun filled evening of food and conversation. Joe taught me how to make the perfect Manhattan, and do on many occasions, toast him after making one.  I hope to keep up with Nadia as she has moved out closer to where we live now. I missed seeing Joe and Nadia on a regular basis after moving out of the sub in 2018.  Rest in peace, good friend and neighbor!  Dan, Dale and Lori.

     My  deepest condolences to you, Susan and your whole family on the loss of your Dad. Having met him at your house a few years ago, I remember him distinctly (as well as your Mom). He was so affable and engaging and we had a very nice conversation. His pride in you and your family were so apparent, and from the scope of the conversation it was obvious that he was one who embraced and enjoyed all aspects of life. Joe was a great friend and totally devoted to Nadia and his family.  I have many fond, land and sea memories.  He was always even keel and fun to be with.    He leaves a wonderful legacy and he will be missed

Joe was a great guy to work for and to work with.  He was my supervisor during the early years of my work career and I learned so much from him; how to treat people fairly, how to command respect by giving respect, how to solve problems, and  how to avoid creating problems.  I remember what he told me when he moved on to Chrysler.  Joe knew that the company we worked for was making a big mistake by going into a product they knew very little about,  He was so right!

But most of all, I knew how much Joe loved Nadia and his sons.  They were everything to him.  So, may God grant to his servant Joseph, Eternal Memory and Peaceful Repose

Joe was a wonderful boss and mentor to me early in my career.   On bad weather days we would travel together to work, and we shared  a couple business trips.  I admired him as a leader and friend, and these experiences we shared are the source of pleasant memories.  Cathy and I send our prayers for the comfort of Nadia and the boys (now men of course, but we remember them in their youth.)
