Josephine Rassey

Josephine Rassey, age 100 of Clinton Township, MI passed away peacefully on June 8, 2019, surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife of the late George Rassey (February 14, 1985). Her passing will leave the deepest void in the hearts of not only her family but all who knew her. She was an amazing woman who dedicated her life, love and devotion to her family and her church.

Dearest mother to Janice (Michael) Gutierrez, Sharon (the late Joseph) Najor, George (Donna) Rassey and Richard (Michele) Rassey. Proud and loving grandmother to Nicole (Bryan) Cameron, Joseph (Carol) Najor, Kevin (Melissa) Najor, George (Melanie) Rassey, Dawn (Greg) Iwaschina, Lauren (Jason) Nash, Richard (Melissa) Rassey. Step grandmother to Michelle (Michael) McCarthy, Christine (Clifford) Mixen, Matthew (Lorraine) Gutierrez and Denise (John) Kowalski. Special and fun- loving Great- Grandma Josie to Jeana, Olivia, Rachel, Jordan, Austin, Tommy, Grace, Georgie, Hunter, Hudson, Lilah, and Sophie, our little angel in heaven. Step great-grandmother to Michael, Matthew, Camille, Luke, Mary and Aaron.

Her passion for life, family and friends will be missed by those whose lives she touched and cherished. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many very special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was baptized and married in St. George Orthodox Church and has been a devoted parishioner and member of the St. George Ladies Society. In the early years, she and her sisters would help prepare food for the dinners at the Church.

She celebrated her 100th birthday on Mother’s Day, May 12th, with her loving family and many friends. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Mary Shaar, and seven sisters.

Visitation for Josephine will be Tuesday, June 11, 2-9pm with a 7pm service, at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Instate visitation will be Wednesday June 12, at 10:00am until the time of Mass at 11:00am at St. George Orthodox Church, 2160 E Maple Rd, Troy, MI 48083. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
