Mrs. Josephine M. (nee Wilk) Starr, age 94, a resident of Chesterfield, formerly of Detroit and Cape Coral, Florida, died January 17, 2011, at Village of East Harbor, Chesterfield, Mich. She was born August 15, 1916 in Hamtramck, Michigan. Wife of the late Custer Aloysius Starr. Josephine was a homemaker and a foster mother. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Caroline), Custer (Helen), Roger (Beverly) of Oregon, Susan (Gordon) Knowles of N.C. and Diane (Jeff) Mancini of Florida; four grandchildren, Jason (Karen), Steven (Jacqueline), Todd (Lisa) and Marc (Tara); nine great-grandchildren; foster mother of Joetha (Paul) Czarnecki of Mich. and Jefferson (Penny) Matthews of N.C.
