You are so loved! And my being here, and you there, doesn't change my love for you. I regret that I wasn't there more often to enjoy all that you were and more. I loved your humor, and I loved how you loved making us laugh. I loved how proud you were of your children, and how you had such a charitable heart. Your actions influenced  me, always for the better. I love you for all those wonderful lessons you taught me when you probably didn't even know I was watching.
Ithank you Uncle Ken, for all those years that I got to be a part of your life. I know that Heaven is a better place, because you are there. Love you always and Forever

Dear Kay and Family

We want to express our sympathy to you and your family over your loss.  Ken was always to much fun to talk with.  John, especially, enjoyed his humor.  We have very  fond memories your entire family and Spokesmen.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Kay, I am so sorry to read about Ken. I so enjoyed texting with him just a few weeks ago. I know your pain. Life will change but we must go on for our children. You have a big family so you will be surrounded with one of them at all times. Please feel like you can text or call me 336-339-2239 at any time.  I will be praying for you and the family.  May god bless you during your time of grief.


He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.  I will miss him referring to me as  "Susan Croooo....mer" and his requests for me to leave him my hair.  He definitely knew how to make folks smile.  RIP dear Uncle Ken.

Just a nick name he chose for me. I’ve been truly blessed to have spent several weeks each year with him since birth from visits to phone calls. holidays were always a treat that meant more time to spend with him and Aunt Kay and my cousins. I’ll never forget his organization for trips to visit and going back home  early morning visits letting everyone know that it was time to be ready and go. How blessed I was to have always had him in my life giving me advice and letting me know how much he loved me. Even when my own dad was sick he called and visited me and after my dad passed away he gave me the fatherly love and allowed me to talk and cry to him in my grief.  I can only imagine his beautiful glowing face when he met God in person and the awe of hearing him say Well Done my good and Faithful servant. I loved his passion for God and I Loved him! Until we meet again Uncle Ken

Ken Hawkins was my first neighborhood dad that I looked up to, listened to, respected.  I remember him working around the house, cracking jokes, telling Rhonda to stop doing whatever it was she was doing.  That was the 70's, fast forward to more recent times and he and my dad would still chat when they'd see each other around town.  He was a good man, he will be missed.
