Marlene’s simple joys in life were some of her greatest treasures. She cherished time spent at her family cottage in Caseville, a place built by her father and filled with treasured memories. She loved water skiing and embraced life with an adventurous spirit. Marlene delighted in a daily glass of white wine and a cookie, and had a special fondness for the timeless music of Rod Stewart, Kenny Rogers, and Johnny Cash. Most of all she valued the time she spent with her family and the precious memories that were made with them.
A longtime, dedicated member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Community in Sterling Heights, Marlene found great comfort and fellowship in her faith and parish community. She also had a special place in her heart for the Humane Society and the Capuchin Soup Kitchen of Detroit, and contributed to them whenever she could.
Marlene is survived by her daughter Pam Kemichick (Jim), son Rick Myers (Cathy), and daughter Sandra Smith (Patrick); Grandsons Jason Kemichick (Kate) and Patrick Kemichick (Colleen), great-grandson, Jack, who brought her immense joy; and bonus grandchildren, Nick, Jason, Lauren and their families. Marlene will be deeply missed, but the beautiful memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to celebrate Marlene’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025. A brief gathering will begin at 9 AM and continue until time of a funeral mass at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Community, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313. Details regarding a luncheon following will be available at the mass.
