

21, 2014. Born November 21, 1922, in Piggott, Arkansas. Raised in Flint. Married Harry W. Albrecht,
May 10, 1941. He preceded her in death in February, 1998.
From 1941 Mary lived in Ann Arbor before moving to Clinton Township in 2007.
Survived by her daughter Sharon Gutow and daughter-in-law Robin Albrecht, six grandchildren—Amy
(James) Hermon, Gretchen (Stephen) Pilon, David Gutow, Heather Albrecht, Michael (Michelle) Gutow,
John Albrecht—and eight great grandchildren—Hadley, Benjamin and Samuel Hermon; Jackson,
Heather, and Megan Pilon; Marissa and Marcus Gutow. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret
Tate, and two brothers, Charles (Esther) Thomas and James (Diane) Thomas. Mary was preceded in
death by her son John Albrecht, her brother Frank Thomas, her sister Martha Taylor, and her son-in-law
Thomas Gutow.
A member of the Ann Arbor First United Methodist since 1942, Mary chose Bible study as an important
part of her life, particularly the Partakers and Discipleship classes. She was also a lifetime member of
the Order of the Eastern Star, a Past Worthy Matron, and Washtenaw County Association president.
Mary was an avid fan of both University of Michigan football and the Detroit Tigers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, from 2:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Road, in Clinton Township. Instate Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, 16339 E 14 Mile Rd, Fraser, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
