Miriam Joan Smith

Miriam Smith, age 79, passed away April 7, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Wayne F. Smith. Loving mother to Kevin (Ann) Smith, Kent (Deshawn) Smith and Kimberly (Gary) Vigneron. Grandmother to Garrett, Griffin, Brayden, and Chloe. Sister to Roscoe Corey. Predeceased by her siblings Thelma Larson, Raymond Corey, and Darrell Corey.

Miriam was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and earned her Master’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University. She was recognized as a 50 year member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Miriam was a Kindergarten teacher at L’Anse Creuse schools where she touched the lives of over 1,600 children and was nominated for Teacher of the Year. She was also a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.

Visitation Friday, April 12, 2013 from 1pm to 8pm at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield, Clinton Township, MI 48035. A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, April 13, 2013 at George White Funeral Home 220 N. Chicago, Litchfield, MI. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
