

Patricia L. “Patti” Smith, 58, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Patti was born in Mt. Clemens at St. Joseph Hospital on October 18, 1955 to Leroy and Geraldine M. (Dubrul) Lenhardt. She attended Fraser Public Schools graduating from Fraser High School in 1973. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in 1975 from Macomb Community College. Patti had over 25 years of public accounting bookkeeping experience, starting in the medical field, then public accounting, public education and also in automobile tool manufacturing. In her spare time Patti was a member of the Great Lakes Chorus of Sweet Adelines International where she sang tenor with several quartets, competing annually for several years and consistently medaled. Patti was also the Cherub Choir Director of Zion United Church of Christ in Mt. Clemens. Pastimes included her enjoyment of bowling and golf as well. During difficult times Patti was comforted and supported by not only her loving family but by her abiding faith in Christ.
Patti met Robert J. Smith Jr. and they married on May 16, 1980 nearly 34 years ago. Together they raised their daughter, Jamie L. (Courtney) McIver and son Tyler. Recently a grandson, Samuel McIver, was added to their family. Also surviving are her mother, Gerry Lenhardt; brother, Robert J. (Jane) Lenhardt; sisters-in-law, Nancy Paul and Christie (Ronald Cohen) Smith; three nieces and three nephews. Patti was predeceased by her father Leroy Lenhardt who passed away April 23, 1997.
