Robert J. Baumgart passed away on March 18, 2019 at the age of 93. He was the loving husband of Audrey for 69 years. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He was also an honorably discharged World War II Navy Veteran. Robert retired as a Sergeant from the Detroit Police Department after 27 years of service. He went on to work as a body guard and driver for Mr. Alex Manoogian.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Veronica Baumgart and siblings Lorraine (Stanley) Lingemann, Roy (Shirley) Baumgart, and Joanne (William) Pietrangelo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A Rosary will take place at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 S. Nunneley in Clinton Township. Friends may visit church beginning at 9:30am.
