Gosh...Dani and Family, I know there are no words that can heal the ache right now. Thank you for sharing Sharon with so many of us. 

She left a legacy of love, strength, kindness, and grit. She was a mentor, a guide, and someone who saw more in me than I ever saw in myself. She pushed me to grow, to rise to challenges, and to believe in what I could become. I’ll never forget how she would run band drill “one more time” … ten times, and how she would teach us about the art of performance while we "made them throw babies" in the stands. She encouraged me to become drum major...not just in high school, but for Lakeshoremen. She had this way of making everyone around her laugh while also commanding a room and earning instant respect.

The band and winterguard world can be challenging, and she knew that better than anyone. But she also knew exactly what we could handle. She knew how far to push, how high to set the bar, and how to push us right to the edge where discipline and pride meet. 

She taught me the beauty of music, the awe in a perfectly timed spin or toss. She made sure that when we stepped off that field or out of that gym, we carried with us not just the exhaustion, but the spark—that feeling of pride in knowing we had done something bigger than ourselves.

From her, I learned lessons that I still carry with me every single day. She taught me that being on time isn’t enough—if you’re on time, you’re late. If you’re ten minutes early, you’re truly on time. She instilled values of discipline, respect, and perseverance that have shaped who I am.

Her influence lives on not just in me, but in every student she inspired. I am endlessly grateful to have learned from her.

I will love you forever, Sharon. Thank you for believing in me.

Sharon was a rock for me in my teenage years.  She was always there.  I was the kid from Marauders that joined Lancers.  She welcomed me with open arms.

Sharon’s heart was always helping people & music.  Play your heart out in heaven

Sharon was one of those wonderful people I crossed paths with in life who for 35 years visits my mind often with such fond memories. I was just one of many band kids lucky enough to have her in my life for a few short years. She was a beautiful force and made a profound impact on my young life.  I will never forget her passion, her inspiration, her humor, her toughness, and her hard work. Whenever I need to dig deeper and work harder to do better I see Sharon screaming with approval, shaking her fists, and rooting from the top row of the stands at the 50 yard line. She was always loved and will forever be in my heart. My deepest condolences to Jodie and the rest of her friends and family.

Dani and family.  My heart breaks for you.  I know how awful it is to lose your mom , and it is a club you hate to join.  Your mom was very kind to me when I joined the Fineberg family, and I loved spending time and talking with her whenever the opportunity arose.  She was a very strong woman and I am sure she instilled her values in you.  Take care of yourself.  Sherrie Brewington

You always were there, maybe over the phone, maybe not

I remember your kind words when I was little.
Stressing over things the size of a worm to you, but the size of a mountain to me.
And yet, no matter how little it seemed to you, you would always be there.
I know you will always be there with us, in our hearts and in our minds.
I wanted so much for you to become better, to be able to go on a walk without being in pain.
And now you can.
I don't know where you are, or where you want to be.
But I know that you are loved.
No matter where you were, we loved you.
We still do.

So many fond memories of Sharon and marching band when I was at Eisenhower high school.She was spunky and so much fun to be around. I learned so much from her. 
Truly a joy and a gift from the Lord. Praying Gods peace and comfort to your family.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I was so sorry to hear about Sharon's passing. She was a truly special person, and I'll always remember her incredible wit, sharp mind, and the way she could make everyone around her laugh and feel special. She was a true light, and her absence will be felt by so many in and out of the marching arts world.
