Tilda Downey

Tilda Downey, age 82, passed away March 5, 2015. She was loving wife of the late Roy Downey, beloved step mother to Karen (Larry) Peltier and Greg (the late Fran) Downey, sister of Tom (the late Evelyn) Christopher, the late Jean (Fred) Meinecke and the late Godfrey Christopher, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In the earlier years, Tilda enjoyed tap dancing, golfing, baking and ceramics. She and Roy liked spending their winters down in Florida until he passed away in 2011. Tilda took pride in caring for her husband and was an outstanding caregiver until the end. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She will be missed.

Visitation will take place at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd. Clinton Township, MI on Sun. March 8 from 3-8 pm. The funeral Mass will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes St. Sterling Heights, MI on Mon. March 9 at 11 am with an in state time of 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gleaners Food Bank or Capuchin’s Soup Kitchen.
