Virginia “Ginny” Louise Mead, 82, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on December 6, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan, Ginny was known for her radiant positivity, deep love of life, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Mead; her parents, Robert and Mildred McDow; and her brother, William McDow. Ginny is survived by her devoted nephew, Scott McDow, and his wife, Amey; and their children: Seth McDow, Layne Neuwirth and Hannah McDow, along with their spouses and children. She also leaves behind her cherished cousin, Betty Frech of Missouri, and her dearest friends Peggy Brogan, Marilyn Wankel, Heather Stebbeds, Patti Kertz, Donna Lynn Humphries and Natalie Mead.
Those who knew Ginny will remember her for her unwavering optimism, her kind and generous spirit, and the joy she found in everyday life. Her laughter, warmth, and lighthearted outlook left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Ginny’s memory—just as she gave so freely throughout her life.
