Aunt Mary, Jess, Danny, Charlie, and Sam,

I don't think many people are as lucky as I was to have such an amazing uncle. Uncle Wally ensured that there was never a dull moment at family gatherings as he had the unique ability to bring laughter to almost every situation. I will surely miss his playful teasing, battling my way through the kitchen, and being thrown into the pool in the summer. I am so grateful for all the invaluable lessons he taught me these past years and will never forget his laugh or smile. As I reflect back on all the amazing times I was fortunate enough to have with him, I have realized how much of his personality lives on through you four cousins. He will always be loved and never forgotten.

Dear Aunt Mary, Sam, Charlie, Dan, and Jess:  My heart goes out to all of you during this incredibly difficult time.  I think of you four kids, as much more than cousins – it's like having an extra four siblings. And your dad was much more than an uncle. Looking back on our times together, it is difficult to do anything but smile and laugh.  To me, Uncle Wally was the most natural and clever of teachers – and teasing was his method of instruction.  Whether it was his infamous “back of the neck grab” for not coming up to him to say hello at a family gathering, or his refusing to let me get out of the lake when I was struggling to get up on water-skis for the first time, or betting me I would catch “something” if I put my fishing rod in Houghton Lake overnight – a bet which he won, when I pulled what seemed like the most massive catfish ever out of the water the next morning. When I ran up to declare my big news he just cracked that classic "Wally" smile, laughed, and admitted he thought the odds were against him. He taught me perseverance, resilience, the importance of family and of a good laugh. I will miss him dearly, but I also know that much of him remains behind – in each of you. Your smiles, like his, are infectious, and I know that the teasing won't stop anytime soon, either.  I am so fortunate to have all of you, and to have had such a remarkable, loving uncle.  I love you all.

Dear Sam,  I would like to express my deepest sympathy, to you and your family...My prayers are with you all during this time...

People, let me tell you about my best friend and husband Wally.  He was kind, compassionate, smart, funny and warm .Wally was a wonderful, loyal husband, father, brother and friend, who lived to make people laugh and found humor in everything.  As I write this I still cannot comprehend that he won't be sitting in his chair watching TV and trying to figure out the remote.  Our daily family dinners that have shrank from the 6 of us to the two of us will be no longer.  During dinner we would talk about our day; and he was always supportive and encouraging.  I will miss his daily "what's up" emails - I will have to read his old emails and jokes to keep me going.  Wally was a strong, loving father and his kids were everything to him; and how he measured his success.  He constantly bragged about them and would do anything for them (except Ikea- Charlie) . He taught our children the value of hard work, education, manners, inner strength, love and family. Wally's legacy to Sam, Charlie, Danny and Jessica is his love for them and his example of living a joyous life that is filled with laughter.

 I am proud to have known and loved Wally; half of me is gone.  I regret that I didn't say it enough,  - I thought we had all the time in the world,  but I love you  Wally and I always will, and I will treasure all our memories and special times.

To my fasher, 

As I was taking the plane to Michigan on Sunday, I was trying to keep busy. I started to do a word search puzzle on my iPad and was looking for those hard to find words. I started to use the strategy that you had taught me during one of our father/ daughter homework sessions. I remember thinking that you were a complete genius for thinking of this strategy. Now some of our homework sessions didn't go all that well. 
I remember sitting on the coffee table in the living room and you were quizzing me on my spelling words. You started with just the actual list, but then you went onto any word on the page.  You said if they're on the page they're part of your spelling test. I thought it was very unfair that you asked a 1st grader to spell “Houghton Mifflin”. 

The strongly exaggerated and sometimes full out lie stories you would tell me all in good fun. I remember telling my book buddy in 2nd grade that my dad was 29 and my mom was “like way older”. We would drive past building on the way to gymnastics and I asked if a building said “Royal Transmissions”, you told me no that was wrong. I would ask friends what it said and then tell them they were wrong. Tennessee, that's where you told me you were going on one of my birthdays. You even had your suitcase and stuff in the living room. 

I finally accepted a job in Georgia and I decided I wanted a new car. You kept telling me that I wanted a Ford Taurus. In the middle of the car lot, I had enough of your nagging and told you “nothing says I've given up on my dreams more than buying a Ford Taurus.” The car salesman was even laughing. You conceded and we went to look at SUVs. When you helped me move to Georgia we had some great conversations during the long car ride. We finally ate at a Waffle House together- which was disgusting we agreed. I couldn't have imagined anyone else putting my furniture together, who knew they came with so many extra pieces. 

I will miss you more than a million, billion homemade French fries. I will always be able to laugh when thinking about your sweet dance move, “Daddy Bag of Doughnuts”. You will always be both the devil and the angel on my shoulder. In any situation, I will always think what would my dad have done. I'll continue to push myself and not be a “wussy” because we all know you didn't raise any. I'll even miss you yelling “my daughter the lush” when I've had a rough night out. I love you more than the biggest fish in Houghton Lake and according to you that is HUGE! 

Thank you. Those words don't sum up magnitude of what you have done me.  I am so grateful that I grew up in a family with both love and humor. Thank you for teaching the meaning of family. Your actions spoke louder than any words could possibly. It has taught me not to take life too seriously and appreciate all those I meet.

It is impossible for me to point to one memory with my dad and say ‘that one is my favorite'. There are just too many great memories that I had with him, so that's the reason why I will miss all the little things with him the most. Whether it was his ‘smile if you're lying joke' or his ‘you're feeling pretty good to me' teasing, I could always count on him to brighten my day. I miss all his jokes even the same ones I heard multiple times. I will never forget his tickling and grabbing my neck to make me flinch. I miss scooping ice cream and making bagels in the morning for him with the bagel grabber he got me. I miss sharing a full rack of ribs with him anywhere and then him complaining that Long Horn's were better. I miss watching golf with him only so he could tell me which golfer was going to be my new boyfriend. I miss those Thursday, and then Wednesday, nights spent watching Survivor together. I always looked forward to that part of my day with him along with our daily family dinners when he would try to “burn the conversation” on me. If I could list all my memories with him I don't think they would ever end. I will treasure all the great times we spent together. He was the best dad I could ask for and even though I was planning to have a million more memories together I will forever cherish the great ones I had with him. I was so lucky to have such a wonderful, loving and funny dad and I am so proud to be able to call him that today. I am thankful for all that he has taught me like trying new things, for example the batting cages, and never giving up, even when I hurt my knee skiing I had to get back out on the slopes. He was a role model for me. I loved and envied his ease in striking up a conversation with literally anyone. He was able to make friends wherever he went, whether it was the waiter at a restaurant or the person standing next to him in line. He was also never afraid to speak his mind and was always so talkative. I looked up to him more than I think he knew. Although he is gone now, he will live on forever through my memories and he will always be that little voice in my head pushing me to do my best, telling me to never give up and of course cracking some jokes.

Mary, Jessie, Danny, Charlie, and Sam - I am so sorry for your loss.  Wally was my dearest friend  and brother in law. We had so much in common. We dated and married beautiful sisters,  raised our kids together and both were so lucky to be part of the Radlick clan. I' ll Never forget
All the fun, stupid things we did together. Golf won't be the same without the trash talk  and who's going to bet I can't even make the shortest of putts. Wally was never boring, always quick with a joke,
A smile, a helping hand, and had really good aim with a water balloon. For  34 years we put each other down lifted each other up
and constantly, constantly laughed.  I thank God for Wally.  Heaven just got happier.

Mary, and Sam, Charlie, Danny and Jess - you know how much I love you all.  Since I was 14 years old, Wally was like a big brother to me, including all of his teasing.   He let me tag along with him and Mary, and even put up with my living there for a summer. The four of us shared so many good times. The first people we celebrated our engagement with were Mary and Wally. Over the years, with each new baby, our circle grew.  I knew Wally loved my kids like his own.  We loved his warmth, humor and generosity. The kids grew up together and so did we. These are the ties that bind our families together and cannot be broken.  We will cherish and share our memories.  I will always be grateful for having had Wally in my life and will miss him so very much. love, (Aunt)Trisha

Hey Sam, 
From one Daddy's girl to another, I just want to pass on some sweet words of comfort someone once said to me... "When you are really missing your Dad, think of a time when you all laughed really hard and he will be right beside you." It's been true for me and I hope it will be true for you all as well.

I will hold you all in my heart and in my prayers as you journey through grief and will be hoping you and your family will find comfort and strength in loving, happy memories.

Over the past week I have been able to see and witness all the love and memories Wally left behind. Along with remembering many of my own memories from the past 17 years. He was a great man, always the center of attention and the loudest one in a room. He put a smile on everyone's face. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends and continue to remember all the great things about him. That alone will keep you going. My heart goes out to all of you. Stay strong during this difficult time, its what he would have wanted. Love you all

Mary, I am so sad to hear about Wally. He was such a great man, when I think about him I just see his amazing smile. Sam, Charlie, Dan and Jessie... Your dad was amazing and you all were his world. I remember growing up next door to you four and since you were babies how happy you all made your dad! It was an honor to know such a friendly, funny, kind man! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened at learning of the passing of my classmate from junior high & high school, Walter DiGregorio. My thoughts & prayers are with the family & friends of this very kind person. My memories of Wally are of his kindness, his smile and his jovial personality. RIP, my friend.
