Wilbert “Bill” John Glines, age 89 of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on April 28, 2025. Bill was born on December 18, 1935 in Detroit, MI , to the late Wilbert Herman Glines and Katherine Deitle.
Bill was the beloved father of David Glines (Barbara), Cheryl Bourcier, Craig Glines (Lisa) and Paula Lieske (Richard); Cherished grandfather of 9, and treasured great-grandfather of 10. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Glines (Mroseske), second wife Ida Glines (Tatti), and sister Kay Smude (William). He was loved by many nephews and nieces.
Bill was a man who was full of life and brought joy to every room he entered with his warmth and humor. His quick wit, ready jokes, and infectious laughter made him a favorite among friends, family, and even strangers — who rarely stayed strangers for long. A true people person, Bill seemed to know someone wherever he went, and he had a special gift for making everyone feel at ease. His presence was a source of comfort, connection, and lighthearted fun. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing and watching Detroit Sports. His favorite team was the Detroit Tigers.
He graduated high school from St. Anthony’s in Detroit in 1954 and was married to Mary in 1956. Bill worked for the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, in the Sales Department for nearly 20 years, followed by Bryant Air Conditioning and Heating Co. for nearly 30 years in the sales department. Bill had the distinction of winning the #1 Salesman Nationwide at Bryant Air Conditioning for 5 years.
Bill was a devout Catholic and a dedicated member of St. Michael Catholic Community in Sterling Heights, where he worshiped faithfully for nearly 30 years. His deep faith guided his life and relationships, leaving a lasting example of kindness, devotion, and love for others. Bill will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4-8 PM with a brief time of sharing memories at 7:30 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. An in-state gathering will follow Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9:30 AM until time of funeral mass at 10:00 AM at St. Paul of Tarsus Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
