Alex Daniel Jones

Alex Daniel Jones passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, at home in Madera, California, surrounded by his loving family. Alex was born in Waldron, Arkansas on May 19, 1934. He moved to California in 1952, eventually settling in the Fresno area in 1970. He retired from his work with Allstate Insurance after a long and decorated career. He spent his days in retirement traveling the country in his fifth wheel, tending his yard and chickens and partaking in the occasional late-night game of poker.

Alex loved his large family more than anything. Backyard BBQs filled with his kids and grandkids were a favorite pastime. He was survived by his wife of 49 years, Cloteen Jones; His children, Leona Sorrells, Denise Hill and her husband Bob, Belva Knight and her husband Art, and Mark Packard; His grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, Lisa, Mark Jr., Brooke, Katie, Cody and their spouses; His great grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Sarah, Aiden, Madison, Olivia, Archer and their spouses; His recently born great, great granddaughter, Violet. He was preceded in death by his Son, Gary Jones.

Our family wants to thank you for your kind words and sympathy during these past few years. We are thankful for the many years we were given, but never promised with this great man. We send our gratitude and appreciation to all of you who were there along the way.

A memorial service for Alex will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Community Church, 3600 N. Fowler Ave, Fresno, California 93727.
