With love and gratitude, the family announces the peaceful passing of their cherished mother and grandmother, Amy Ruth Bentley. Amy was born on March 11, 1927, and left this world at the age of 98 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Scarminach and Colette Robertson, and by the generations of grandchildren: five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Amy and her late husband Chuck, spent their earlier years in the mountains of Shaver Lake. They ran the local convenience store, Mile High Market. Following their time in Shaver Lake, the family moved down the mountain into Auberry, and here is where generations of grandchildren have spent cherished time and made lifelong memories.
For nearly a century Amy nurtured her family with compassion, wisdom, and guidance. Her home was a haven – filled with stories, comfort, laughter and the sense that everyone belonged. She could light up any room with her quick wit, her love of music, and her spirited sense of fun. She adored playing games—cards, board games, anything that brought people together. Around her kitchen table, countless memories were made: joking, storytelling, and shared moments that turned into the family traditions still treasured today.
Amy Ruth was a true gem -rare, cherished, and irreplaceable. Her presence will be missed, but her light will continue to shine.
A Funeral Service to honor Amy's life will be held at The Hills Auberry, located at 32143 Frazier Road, Auberry, CA 93602, on December 16, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
