Andy made going to get a haircut a visit to a good friend with the trim thrown in.
He was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known.
I miss him and our visits.

I have been a customer of Andy's since he was in downtown Clovis.
Getting a hair cut from Andy was not visiting a barber.
  It was visiting a good, good friend and having a very enjoyable discussion on any and everything with a hair cut thrown in.
I will miss him and our visits as a very good friend first and as the best barber by far.

Oh no, I just saw that Andy passed away I am so sorry to hear this and to the family. He was a great guy and I loved his conversations while getting my haircut over the years in Clovis

I ran across Andy's barber shop while stopping  at Port of Subs for a sandwich.  Since I was looking for a new barber, I stopped in.  He said that he would take me a customer so I went the next morning.

Andy was a great barber.  I last saw him in early March, and had planned to see him in April, but then came the shut down.  I stopped by his place two weeks ago and saw that he had vacated his place.

I decided to look for him.  Unfortunately I found his obit.  I am so sorry for Andy.  Really liked him, and we always had pleasants conversation.  He alway did a good job on my hair.

Now I have to find a new barber who will cut my hair like Andy.  Rest in Peace Andy.  Hopefully our nation won't go to pot.

I was shocked to learn of Andy's passing.  I've wanted to get a haircut but was stopped by the corona virus.   Andy and I had many enjoyable conversations about religion and politics (many).  I was searching the internet to try to get a phone number when I discovered he had died.  Even though we were of different religious faiths, we both had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. What a kind, gentle man he was.  I'll miss him.

I was “directed” to Andy through a note to customers posted by my previous barber stating his immediate retirement. My old barber and I had a great customer/barber relationship and my hope was that Andy would fill those shoes. Upon entering Andy’s shop I knew immediately that I was in the right place. A sign posted on the front door stated “Men’s Haircuts” and this was certainly the right place for one.  From Andy’s friendly greeting to the wonderful railroad memorabilia on the walls and the large stacks of magazines THIS was my kind of Barbershop! Unlike a “salon” Andy’s shop reminded me of the shop my dad took my brothers and I too as kids. In Andy’s place though, “salty language” was not permitted as noted by signs posted on the walls. This sign set the expectation that customers were to be gentlemanlike with their vocabulary and speak with a civil tongue. Andy was a character and so were the customers whose heads he shaved. Conversations were always engaging and everyone present could jump in the share their two cents. From politics to religion to matters of everyday like, it was either a customer who started the conversation or Andy who initiated it through a question. Every time I came in, Andy would pick up exactly where we left off on our last conversation four week prior. He never missed a hitch! He was always interested in my work as the “Engineer” of the train at Storyland & Playland as well as my volunteer work as a Scout leader. It was a friend of mine who brought to my attention Andy’s passing. I’m going to miss our conversations. He was truly a man’s barber. My condolences to his family, and to the “Barbershop Brotherhood” that he unknowingly created. Finding another barber and shop like his will be difficult. Eternal rest to you Andy. The gift of your craft was a gift to all of us who frequented your shop.

I am  very sorry to hear the news of Andy.  Years ago when we all lived across the street from each other we became like family.   He was like a brother, my kids called him Uncle Andy and we enjoyed many trips to the beach, watching football, riding motorcycles and shooting guns together.   Over the years we lost contact.  He was a fun loving and great friend!  He is missed!  My prayers are with you Mark, Julie and your families.

We are so very sorry and heartbroken for your loss.  Andy was our next door neighbor for years. He was such a kind, thoughtful man and a wonderful neighbor. He will be dearly missed.

Andy was a gentleman's barber. He was old school and informative.
He was my barber and friend for 14 years. We take our dog to groomer next door and thaty is how I found Andy.
        He is sadly missed be me and I'm sure by other clients.
